J.R. Ewing, Southfork Ranch and Classic Cars
On February 8, 2020 The Dallas Classic at Southfork classic car show & auction will have their inaugural event at Southfork Ranch.
Over 200 cars are expected to be in the auction & show. One being an historic Dallas icon. A 1967 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow that was owned by Nancy Hamon, Oil Empress of Dallas and Philanthropist. Larry Hagman, who played the famed J.R. Ewing on the show “Dallas” was good friends with Nancy and Jake Hamon and he would drive this Rolls, while in the area filming the show “Dallas”.
There are many newsworthy stories about this classic car with Dallas history. An authentic numbered Eleanor from “Gone in 60 Seconds” will be on display along with the Blues Brothers Bluesmobile.
Duncan’s Auctions will be featuring the first ever female auctioneer team in classic car history. Cheri Boots Sutton and her “Boots & The Heels” will be taking the auction stand and selling iconic cars that cross the block.
Burton Gilliam, who starred in “Blazing Saddles”, “Paper Moon”, Thunderbolt & Lightfoot”, “Fletch”, “Back To The Future III” and many more motion pictures will be signing autographs and The Texas Bluesmen, Dallas’ Tribute to the Blues Brother will be onstage at noon.
This inaugural event, which will take place twice a year at Southfork Ranch, is shaping up to be a major Dallas attraction. Visitors are reserving tickets worldwide. There is Pebble Beach on the West coast, Amelia Island on the East coast and now Texas is on the classic car map with The Dallas Texas at Southfork.
