A number of original works by renowned painter Dexter Brown, arguably one of the most influential English automotive artists, will also be on offer. Included is the large-scale oil on canvas A.C.F. Grand Prix Amiens, 1913,painted in his impressionistic style in 1989 and presented in an ornate, gold leaf frame. Other highlights include the acrylic Aston Martin DBR1, Tony Brooks, Nürburgring 1957completed in 2011, and the Interior with The Riding Crop, inspired by a Bruno Zach bronze sculpture and richly packed with exquisite Art Deco references.

Petrolheads will admire the Ferrari “Cavallino Rampante” (Prancing Horse) Bronze Trophy, 1985, as well as The Mystery, 1990, a sculpture by the legendary Stanley Wanlass. The former is a commemorative cast bronze presented to Maranello Concessionaires by Enzo Ferrari in 1985 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their concession, and bears the engraving, “Alla Maranello Concessionnaires, 1960-1985.” The latter is a finely detailed, silvered-bronze sculpture depicting a driver and passenger in a Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, signed and dated 1990 by monumental American sculptor Stanley Wanlass (b. 1941). Also on offer is a bronze and marble sculpture, entitled Old West, by famed artist and sculptor Bruno Zach, dating back to 1923. The sculpture, depicting a scene evocative of the historic American Wild West, reflects the explosion of popularity that the theme encountered in various art forms following the growth of movies focused on the pioneering US years of the 19th century.

Additionally, the sale will include “The Spirit of Humanity,” sometimes known as “The Triumph of Humanity,” a historically significant and important cire perdue (lost wax) bronze sculpture by Michel de Tarnowsky in Paris in 1920, cast by the leading Parisian foundry, Messrs Montaguielli. To fund a massive, 50-foot-tall bronze memorial in Central London in commemoration of the Franco-British cooperation during the Great War, 20 bronze sculptures were planned as a means to raise funds for the public memorial. Each bronze was sold for 100 guineas, or £105, each, a staggering price in 1920. The bronze was exhibited at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall, London, and depicted both British and French troops leading an advance with a Mk IV ‘Tank’ in the center. This sculpture offered is one of only three examples recorded, with the other two being on permanent display at the National Army Museum in London and the Tank Museum at Bodington, Dorset, respectively. The bronze sculpture, signed and dated with a clear foundry mark of Messrs Montaguielli, sits on a bespoke oak presentation plinth.
