The DB5 “Goldfinger” The most famous car in the world!
Did you know?
The “Goldfinger” scene where Q gives Bond the DB5 was shot in the Aston Martin factory.
The film was so popular that Corgi Toys sold a model of the car, complete with an ejector seat.
The DB5 kept appearing in 007 movies “Thunderball,” “Tomorrow Never Dies,” “The World Is Not Enough,” and “Casino Royale.”
The standard DB5 had all-aluminum 4.0-liter engine that provided a 0 to 60 mph time of 8 seconds, slower than the 1964 Mustang and Jaguar E-Type.
In the original novel “Goldfinger” by Ian Fleming, Bond drove an Aston Martin DB Mark III, but in 1964 the DB5 was the most recent model when the film was made, so Sean Connery drove the newest version.
