Mercedes-Benz & Pebble Beach Blast From The Past
In 2015, Mercedes-Benz Classic showcased this one-off 540K Streamliner coupe. Following an extensive restoration and reconstruction, this extraordinary vehicle dating from 1938 celebrated its international public premiere. Developed in a wind tunnel, this exceptional vehicle features a powerful supercharged engine for high-speed long-distance motoring and a unique, lightweight aluminum bodyshell. The 540K Streamliner participated in the Tour d’Elegance in Pebble Beach last year.
The 540K was one of the crowd show-winners with lots of interest. Along with inspiring the production S-Class Coupe and others, the 540 K Streamliner is directly linked to the AMG Vision Gran Turismo and the new AMG GT which was poised to replace the SLS in 2015.
