VERY RARE 1925 Kissel Model 75 2-Passenger Gold Bug Speedster (Titled VIN 751784). The Gold Bug Speedster is the most popular model and was owned by Mr. Quam of Iowa. This beautiful vehicle is offered now by Duncan’s Auctions. If a sale is not finalized by March 9, 2019, this car will be offered live by video in Allen, Texas at The North Texas Classic Car Show & Auction with reserve. It is rare opportunity when a quality Kissel comes to market. Duncan’s Auction would like to thank the Quam family for giving us the opportunity to bring this beautiful piece of automotive artwork to market. Mr. Quam was known for collecting rare and unusual vehicles and this Kissel is no exception. The Kissel Kar was manufactured in Wisconsin by the Kissel Family, who where German immigrants that went from farming, to building cars. This low production and limited history made this car perfect for Mr. Quam’s collection. He purchased this car in 1999 at the Barrett Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. In reviewing his files, Mr. Quam had a strong interest in finding a Gold Bug Speedster prior to the purchase of this car. There is much correspondence in the file where he was in contact with people from all over the country, before buying this particular car. He also has owned a 1914 Kissel “Semi-Racer”. 1925 was the first year of the 8-cylinder engine for Kissel cars and this Gold Bug Speedster came equipped with the 8-cylinder engine, which was a $300 option. This car was originally purchased from Kissinger Motor Company, 630 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio, on October 7, 1926. The original Bill of Sale clearly shows the car as a Speedster and all of this documentation accompanied the car when Mr. Quam purchased it in 1999. The documentation supports that this is an actual Model 75, 8-cylinder Gold Bug Speedster, not a re-bodied car. All mentioned documentation will go with the car when sold. The restoration of this car has held up extremely well and the car has been stored
